I have been retraining my TB exracer from race horse to dressage horse. We are at early stages and she turned four this year.
I have been riding her in a wintec dressage saddle which fits her. Ideally I would love to get her a leather saddle.
I want either the Albion K2, Ultima or I really like the look of the Ideal Suzannah.
My question is when to buy her a leather saddle. Obviously she will change shape as training progreses over the next 2-3 years and as the seasons change.
Would the Albion genesis range saddles be a good option as these are changeable? How much can these saddles be altered? Can the Ideal be altered?
I have always previously had the older albions and I love riding in them.
Any advice welcome as I am unsure which to go for and when to purchase.
Many thanks

Hi Kateangel
Rather than deciding on the saddle you are going to buy now, I strongly recommend that, when you are ready to purchase, you get an experienced saddle fitter who stocks a range of saddles to visit and then chose the one that fits your mare (and you) best.
I would suggest that you wait until your mare has finished growing before you make an expensive purchase (and that will not be for another 18 months at least). The changes in shape from season to season should be fairly slight so long as you monitor her weight and condition regularly, but even so all saddles need checking and the flocking readjusted regularly.
Good luck with your mare and her training.
