I would like to pass on my condolences to the family of Jane Gregory. What a terrible thing to happen, a very small consolation is that she was doing the thing she loved most.

It is a great tragedy and loss to the dressage world, not to mention Jane's partner Aram, her friends, students and horses! Jane was truly on the brink of making it back to the top of the dressage world, with a string of super talented youngsters she was producing to perfection. She was a complete inspiration each time we filmed with her, once at home working Soul Sister and Dances with Wolves (Dressage Training category of the Library), also at Nat Champs and Windsor Horse Show (Competition and Events). I personally had a lesson with Jane on her GP schoolmaster Luke, and she gave me some great advice on how to proceed with my dressage ambitions. You could not but like Jane. She was a tough taskmaster in the lesson because she was passionate about her sport and about teaching - I loved every minute of it and learned loads! Watching her ride and train her horses was poetry in motion.

Just got the news from Eurodressage, how absolutely tragic to lose Jane. Watching Jane ride is an inspiration,. The thing that always strikes me about her style is that her hands are so quiet and sympathetic, something we should all strive to acheive and which is not seen as often as it should be in a sport dedicated to lightness, invisible aids and harmonious partnership. We will miss you Jane but we'll always remember your classic & beautful way of riding, your legacy. Bless you.

What shocking and sad news. She seemed such a lovely down to earth person in her videos and I saw her ride at the nationals a few years ago and her enjoyment of her sport was contagious.

I had the privilege to work for Jane and have lessons with her. I can honestly say that I wouldn't be the woman I am now if it wasn't for her. She totally changed me and my outlook on life and horses. When I first met Jane I sometimes found her advice hard to take, but she only wanted to help me - I just had never met anyone who had told me the truth, and I'm so glad she did. Her dedication to training her horses and her attention to detail were exceptional and her love of all animals infectious. I will miss her so much, as will many who's lives were touched by her warmth and kindness.

Jane. The most passionate and dedicated trainer i have met to date. She was utterly devoted, and quite the perfectionist and thought of nothing but the horses welfare.
She was doing such wonderful justice to her rising stars and had built a sympathetic relationship with them all. I am only sad that we will never get to see her fullfill thier full potential.
Rest in peace.

Such sad news. I really enjoyed the videos you made with Jane and her thoughtful and dedicated approach to her horses. My thoughts are with her family and friends.

I have bumped into Jane several times in my not terribly illustrious career in dressage, and also in the course of my job as a dressage journalist. No-one could have been kinder or more interesting to talk. She always gave me 'good copy' and was generous with her time and knowledge.

I was a huge fan of Jane and Cupido and subsequently had huge respect for her performances with Lucky Star.

I was so looking forward to seeing her on the circuit this season. It is dreadful to lose her at such a young age.

I am so sad that Aram had to lose such a lovely person from his life.
