I had a very sunny holiday and loved it! This marked an official end to the holiday season until June - well I’m hoping there will be something else in June, as it’s our wedding anniversary then!
Luckily we came home to what is classed here in Glasgow as ‘good weather’ - basically no significant wind, rain or snow! I didn't manage to ride the day we arrived home but I did make a very good start on my tax return, though it took pretty much all day Tuesday to get finished and dropped it off with my sister who took it to the accountant! I'm not sure I'm the accountant’s favourite person as the letters asking for all my info’ started in April and continued into August, then September and monthly email reminders, thereafter! I just can't help bring disorganized. I'm not sure how to get over it! But I was very happy when it was all done - well until the next time! Every year my new year’s resolution is to get better at paper work! It doesn’t really happen although I have got slightly(!) better at keeping on top of things!
It was then a shock to the system, as life started back into the 'spring time' regime! Basically lots of riding and teaching! During my first two days riding, I gave myself and easier time and just rode Axil and Nemo - Classy the ‘smartie pants’ decided to lose a shoe the day I got back! I'm glad I only rode two horses as I felt ‘special’! I could not co-ordinate my self especially my legs, so I felt a bit like a wobbly rider! I felt very unfit, fat and all over the place - luckily I decided not to enter dressage show on my first weekend back!
After two days I was back into teaching and riding out other horses and managed seven on day three of riding in 2012! And my legs weren't complete jelly either! After a few more days my co ordination returned - phew! I got back to my Callanetics class and rediscovered my tummy muscles but I had the shakes, big time, after the first exercise! Oh dear I've got a bit to go before I'm fit again!
As much as I love Christmas, I'm beginning to dislike it (only very slightly though, as I think all that food is worth the extra effort afterwards!) A week after being back I had my first riding lessons of the year - dressage with David and I thought to break myself into it gently I'd just ride Axil and Nemo…
