With just a week to go before Burghley Horse Trials '09, Susanna puts her top mare Ava through her paces with trainer Brynley Powell. Ava is 17 and has done everything with Susanna including two Olympic Games, European Champs' and Badminton. She's also been Italian National Champion. Susanna explains the need to get the session done with minimum jumping efforts to conserve Ava's 'leg miles'! After jumping, she talks to Fiona Price about the challenges of being based in Italy, combining horses with studying, her relationship with Ava and competing for Italy in both dressage and eventing at the European Champs'. What a gal'!
