About this video

Having developed aspirations to compete in endurance (as well as dressage and eventing!) since filming the sport for Horse Hero, Fiona takes part in her third 40 km ride, this time, at Barbury Castle with GB team rider Rachel Claridge. Riding Rachel's arab pony, Fiona has a nervous moment when Zar is stressed before the race and almost fails the pre-ride vetting, on heart rate! But once they get going Zar gives Fiona a fabulous ride on the breathtaking Ridgeway, mostly in extended trot, with various crewing points along the way. Will she complete fit and sound so she can qualify to ride longer distances next season?

Orvis 19 Sep 2010 Bad luck Fiona! How frustrating! I completed a 12 mile ride last week and that was enough for me, I take my hat off to endurance riders!
Fiona Price 7 Sep 2010 I have written about it in my blog, if you are interested but, in a nutshell, the going was very flinty and it got the better of a number of horses that day!
JJ2 7 Sep 2010 Such a shame about the lameness...did you find out what caused it?
Fiona Price 7 Sep 2010 Thanks, I have since done a fourth ride and successfully completed, which is written up in my blog. The next outing is in a few weeks, so fingers crossed!
Silver Snaffles 7 Sep 2010 Better luck next time.
