Biography

I grew up in the world of eventing, and competed up to 2* level. Having always had the ambition to train racehorses from a very young age, I spent time gaining valuable work experience with Oliver Sherwood and Nigel Twiston-Davies. While at university, I spent the summer breaking in youngsters on a game reserve in Kenya, later joining Kim Bailey’s yard in Lambourn as his assistant.

In 2001, I joined Nicky Henderson at Seven Barrows and during this time I won the ‘Alex Scott Memorial Fund Assistant Trainer’s Scholarship’ (2004), which took me to the United States. There I worked for the champion flat trainer, Todd Pletcher, and had a very close involvement with subsequent Breeders' Cup winners, Ashado and Speightstown.

During my time at Seven Barrows I was involved with multiple Grade I and Cheltenham Festival winners such as Bacchanal, Marlborough and more recently Trabolgan and Fondmort. I gained my licence and started a racing yard in the Cotswolds in 2006 with five horses.

In 2009 we moved to Hull Farm (a new, bigger and purpose built yard) in the stunning Oxfordshire countryside, and central to the majority of British racing. We currently have over 40 horses in training and our aim is to be competitive at the big Saturday meetings with good each way chances. We have had over 60 winners in less than four seasons, with winnings of £500k.
