What an amazing holiday Cyprus was! A week really was not long enough. It was so lovely to escape onvr again from the dull English weather we have been having and jet off to another hot sunny destination with blue sky, blazing sunshine, fabulous seas and perfect sand!
We soaked up the sun, did tonnes of water sports, including numerous rides on the banana boat (which I fell off dozens of times due to Nic and his friends being absolute nutters on it)! Lucy, Nic's little sister even got a black eye from it. We also went on jet skis and something called 'crazy shark' which is like a massive donut ring which bounces you up out of the waves, and if you don't hold on you get catapulted high into the air and land straight in the sea. Madness!
Although none of us wanted to leave, it's great to be back home with the horses. I couldn't believe how much our little foal Hadley had grown in just a week! He has really filled out and is a very cheeky character. He is losing his baby coat and I can see that he is going to be a gorgeous dark liver chestnut - really beautiful! He has become very close friends with our little dog Pom Pom, who often sleeps next to Hadley in the stable!
My boys Tambo and Rocco are both on fantastic form and I will be upping their work very soon. Tambo's legs are perfect (touch wood) and he is out in the paddock every day, very happy. I think it has really benefited him having plenty of time off and I feel it was the best decision to leave him resting for longer after his stem cell treatment. In 6 weeks or so, I will slowly start to prepare him for next year's eventing season.
Rocco's back is all good now and I can only hope it remains that way. His next outing will be a Novice at South of England, so we are working towards that. Meanwhile I have been working hard on our Welsh cross Hanavarian Dimidici. She is by Dimaggio and is turning out to be a rather amazing dressage prospect. I am hoping to start competing her in the winter.
